Prep Course
The Prep Course covers the first 4 pieces in Suzuki Piano volume 1 (four rhythm variations of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star).
Because I cater for such a wide age-range, I provide my Prep Course in 3 different formats. All the formats cover the same material and get the player up to the same playing standard, but the presentation is tailored to the different age ranges. You only need to do ONE of these courses.
The age ranges are a guide only. If the course seems to be moving too quickly or too slowly then try one of the other formats.
I'm really pleased with how the lessons are working out for Andrew. In the past, when we've done the typical weekly in-person lessons, it was always a stressor for him to try to learn everything that was assigned before his next lesson. With the online lessons, that stress is gone. He just goes at his own pace and he goes on to the next lesson whenever he feels he's ready. As he's been progressing through the lessons, I've noticed that he's more likely to sit down at the piano on his own, just for his own enjoyment, and try to sound out songs he knows. I'm really happy that we found your program.
Piano Book 1
After the Prep Course, you'll move onto Book 1, which covers the remainder of Suzuki Piano Volume 1. The course is designed to enable the hands to be learnt separately until the student is ready to put hands together. This hands-separate split makes it much easier to get started playing piano, especially for very young children.
The introduction to music reading is aimed at children learning Suzuki book 1.
